It has been a record-breaking Olympic Games for Team Ireland as they scooped seven medals, including four golds.

Irish stars Fintan McCarthy and Mona McSharry have been selected as Ireland's flagbearers for the closing ceremony after their medal-winning exploits at these games while other flagbearers include France's Antoine Dupont and Team USA's Katie Ledecky.

Olympic champion Daniel Wiffen was originally named as a flagbearer alongside McSharry but has been forced to withdraw due to illness.

As is tradition for Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, organisers aren't giving anyway thing away but there will be a number of traditional features to tonight's show.

The Closing Ceremony will feature the athlete parade, thanking of volunteers, medal ceremony for the women's marathon, the extinguishing of the Olympic Flame and proclamation of the end of the Games, and the traditional handover of the Olympic Flag from the Mayor of Paris to the Mayor of Los Angeles.

Pre-taped performances from Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are expected in the Closing Ceremony as part of the handover to Los Angeles 2028 while it is heavily rumoured that Tom Cruise will perform an abseil stunt during the ceremony.

Team Ireland will have a number of athletes on hand, including Wiffen and McSharry, as they wave goodbye to a successful Games and we will cover all the updates right here ahead of a spectacular show.

Olympic Cauldron and Balloon on show

An opening song here before French swimming sensation Leon Marchand makes his way to the flame.

Four gold medals for Marchand at this Games and he will collect the Olympic flame. All very suave and stylish in Paris. The flame will make its way from Versailles to the Stade de France.
