Galway fans were left fuming after replays showed that Cork's goal in today's All-Ireland final was thrown into the net.

The Rebels captured back-to-back All-Ireland titles on Sunday evening with a three-point win over Galway in Croke Park.

But replays of Cork's crucial goal show that star forward Katrina Mackey did not successfully strike the ball as the sliothar stumbled into the net after a throw.

However, the goal stood as Cork scored 1-04 without reply after the break and Galway never went back in front after that point.

Galway fans were left fuming after seeing replays of the goal with some even comparing the score to Joe Sheridan's infamous goal to win the 2010 Leinster Football final.

"No goal in the Camogie final, Cork player threw up the ball never struck the ball, ball ended up in the net, throw ball, #joesheridan," said one social media user.

"Joe Sheridan-esque finish for Cork goal in camogie final? Thought ref was only one who could perform the throw-in!?" said another.

"I'd say Thierry Henry would say that Cork goal was legit," said another social media user.

The Rebels were heavy favourites for today's game but Galway made sure they would not be pushovers from early on.

Cork started off the game with a couple of quick scores from Katrina Mackey and Saoirse McCarthy only for Carrie Dolan to pulls things back level with a couple of frees.

And the first half followed that pattern with no side stretching their lead beyond a single point as Galway took a slender one-point lead into the break.

Cork came out all guns blazing in the second half, scoring 1-04 without replay and Galway suddenly trailed by six.

But Galway plugged away and scored six points without reply to draw things level in the 51st minute.

The Tribeswomen will rue their performance in that final spell as they hit some poor wides and lack of composure on the ball while Cork managed to do enough to take a three-point lead and see out the final.
