Munster edge past Ulster in season opener despite late rally
Munster survived a late rally to run out winners.

Hat-trick happy Alana McInerney’s crossed for three first half tries in half-an-hour as her side posted a 29-22 win over Ulster in the opening Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship series game.
The first of the trio came after just seven minutes, the winger benefitting following a loose Kathryn Dane pass to race 60m to score.
The second was posted in the 18th minute in the wake of good work from Jane Clohessy and Brianna Heylmann, with Heylman freeing McInerney who beat Sophie Meeke to score.

The third McInerney try, coming in the 33rd minute secured the attacking bonus point for Munster.
Kate Flannery had initially turning over Ulster ball, Stephanie Nunan haring off downfield before feeding McInerney.
That was to be her lot, however, she fell heavily in a tackle from Vicky Irwin and had to be replaced in the run up to half-time.
The Fiona Hayes coached Munster led 22-7 at the break but Ulster regrouped and managed to stage a mini-rally.
They would eventually lose out by just seven points as India Daley and Lucy Thompson added to Tara O'Neil's first-half try.
Munster lock Claire Bennett picked up the Vodafone player-of-the-match award.
