Dominic Solanke has put the finishing touches to his £65million move to Tottenham, as the forward becomes the seventh most expensive English footballer of all-time.

Solanke, 26, has signed a six-year contract with Spurs to become their new club record signing, with the deal also representing a club record sale for Bournemouth.

The former Chelsea youngster scored 19 goals for the Cherries as they finished 12th in the Premier League last season, while his sale will also net a significant fee for Liverpool, who signed him in 2017 only to sell him to Bournemouth two years later, inserting a 20 per cent sell-on clause into the deal.

Solanke will attempt to fill the striking void at Tottenham which was left by Harry Kane when he moved to Bayern Munich last summer, and he could make his debut when Spurs go to Leicester City for their opening Premier League game of the new season on August 19.

He had been considered for Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024 in the summer, only for the now former England boss to prefer Brentford's Ivan Toney and Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins in his squad as the back-ups to Kane.

Solanke's only senior international cap came in a friendly against Brazil in November 2017, back when he was at Liverpool, but his lack of international recognition hasn't stopped him from taking his place among England's football's costliest stars.

He now sits seventh on the list, overtaking Mason Mount after his £55m move from Chelsea to Manchester United last summer.

Ahead of Solanke sits Jadon Sancho, who joined United from Borussia Dortmund for £73m in 2021, and Harry Maguire, another United signing, who joined from Leicester in 2019.

In fourth spot is Kane after his Tottenham exit for Bayern last summer came in at £86.4m, with Jude Bellingham in third after his switch from Dortmund to Real Madrid cost £88m.

Jack Grealish and Declan Rice share top spot with their £100m transfers from Aston Villa to Manchester City and West Ham to Arsenal respectively, although Rice's could eventually reach £105m.
