Love Is Blind star Sabrina Egerton has revealed she has received direct messages from men asking for feet pics and wanting to buy her lingerie and expensive shoes since she shot to fame on the UK series.

The Netflix show returned for a new UK series on Wednesday night with a new batch of hopeful singletons looking for love and gearing up to commit to marriage.

The Belfast native burst onto our screens this week as one of the first contestants to get engaged to London gym owner Steven Smith on the hit reality Netflix UK series.

The 35-year-old marketing and communications director told us: “I get a lot of feet requests.

“I also had someone message asking if they could buy me underwear. They literally sent a screenshot of this underwear..

“Someone also asked if they could buy me Louboutin’s. That was tempting,” she said jokingly.

Sabrina also revealed she used to be in a ten-year relationship before the show and has been single for the last number of years.

“You don't actually see it on camera, but I was actually in a relationship for 10 years. We met when I was 21 and started dating when I was 22. And then we kind of grew up together, which just grew apart like it was very amicable. He's a great guy. He just wasn't my guy.

“So then I suddenly was launched into the world of dating with apps and all these things like modern day dating that hadn't existed since I was last single and I just find it really hard to navigate because with dating apps, I found that there was a lot of people who just want attention but aren't dating with intention. And I find it quite superficial.

“And like I even find myself falling into that in the sense of like, when you see a profile, the first thing you're doing is looking at the pictures and then looking at the height, and like I'm five foot one. I have no right to check to see what anyone is,” she said laughing.

Sabrina said the “magic of TV” looks like she got engaged quickly after meeting Steven in the pod.

"It's the magic of TV and I think you have to remind people like even from what you see there, like it looks like me and Steven got engaged really, really quickly.

“But there's so many dates that you guys haven't seen, you know, he gave me his grandfather's ring. We had like two dates when we were painting in the pods. We had dates where we were playing games, like there's so much that you haven't seen.

“So I think it's just as long as you and your friends and family know who you are under the truth, I think you have to take solace in that.”

But Sabrina said she found her overnight fame “overwhelming”.

“Going overnight from normality…. Then sent it to press across UK and Ireland, to being posted on Netflix’s social media, I find that really, really overwhelming.

“And I actually struggled with that a little bit and it took me about a week or so to just even acknowledge it on my own social media channel because it was a lot.

“But it's the people that you haven't spoken to in years that's been like, ‘oh hey bestie’ and it's like, ‘I haven't spoken to you since uni’.”

Also on the show is 31-year-old Dubliner, Conor Griffin, who was approached to go on the series through dating app, Hinge.

The co-owner of Roots in Monkstown in Dublin told us: “It goes back to the dating apps like I was scrolling through Hinge and I basically was asked to go on the show.

“It was more of a timing thing. I really was looking for something more profound. I just couldn't find that through conventional methods, conventional methods being Hinge. So I just said yes.

“However, it was kind of more of a, like, I hadn’t necessarily aspired to go on it but yeah it just kind of popped up and I said, yes.”

He joked: “I think my time is vastly reduced because my screen time consists of me eating a piece of cake and asking Ollie if he just broke up with someone.”

But he said he was happy to be part of the show.

“I think that they've really represented everyone quite accurately in terms of their intentions, their character. I think you came across incredibly well Sabrina.

“I think they've actually represented people on their intentions very accurately. Very fairly in terms of the edit.”

The first four episodes of Love Is Blind: UK are available to stream on Netflix now. Four more episodes are set for release on August 14 with the grand finale set to join the streaming platform on August 21.
