Celtic have launched a fresh bid to bring Ireland striker Adam Idah back to Glasgow.

Brendan Rodgers has been clear that he wants the Cork striker back as part of his squad on a permanent basis as he bids to defend his Scottish Premiership crown while also making a mark on the newly revamped Champions League this season.

The Hoops will once again mix it with Europe's elite and Rodgers wants the Norwich City hitman as part of his plans for years to come.

Celtic are in discussions with the English Championship side as they look to thrash out a £8 million deal after seeing previous offers knocked back.

Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup has that admitted Idah had been welcomed back into the fold but another bid could land from Glasgow for the Ireland international.

Idah was disciplined by the club for missing a flight to a pre-season friendly against Hoffenheim in Germany, with speculation linking him with a permanent move back north of the border thought to be a factor involved.
