A Ryanair flight headed from Nice to Dublin Airport was met with emergency services upon arrival after a tyre burst on landing.

Flight FR1959, a Boeing 737 Ryanair plane, headed out of Nice Côte d'Azur Airport just before 1pm French time arriving into Dublin at around 2:15pm, landing normally before the tyre burst upon landing.

Passengers were brought off the plane and were quickly transported to the terminal by a bus as emergency services dealt with the blaze that ensured following the burst tyre. Photos of the scene show members of the airport police and multiple fire service vehicles.

Teenage aviation journalist Shaun’s Aviation reported both fire and smoke were reported on the undercarriage of the plane as fire services responded.

According to AirLive, the flight remained on the taxiway for hours after landing, with Ryanair confirming that the plane was towed away on a stand after 5pm and is now being inspected by engineers.

A Ryanair spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “This flight from Nice to Dublin landed normally at Dublin Airport at 14:15pm, where it then experienced a minor tyre issue on the runway. Passengers disembarked and were transported to the terminal by bus.

“The aircraft was towed on stand at 17:10pm and is currently being inspected by our engineers in line with normal procedures.”

United Airlines flight UA119 departed Edinburgh at around 11.45am yesterday and was heading to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

However, as the aircraft was travelling over the Atlantic Ocean and nearing Iceland, the pilots detected a hydraulic issue with the plane.
