Rita Ora cancels gig just hours beforehand after being rushed to hospital with mystery illness
Rita Ora issued a statement on Saturday announcing that she wouldn't be performing at Campus Fesztivál in Hungary that night after spending a previous evening in hospital
Rita Ora has announced the cancellation of a scheduled performance at a festival this week, telling fans that she must now rest after having ended up in hospital recently.
The singer-songwriter, 33, took to her Instagram Story on Saturday afternoon to share that she had spent the night in hospital in Hungary. She didn't disclose details about her health but said she's been encouraged to "rest thoroughly".
She told fans that as a result she wouldn't be performing at Campus Fesztivál in the country that evening. Rita shared the statement just hours before she was expected to perform in the city of Debrecen as part of the annual event.

Taking to the platform, she wrote in the message this weekend: "Please forgive this unexpected turn of events but sadly I will not be able to perform at Campus Fesztivál tonight. Having spent the night in hospital in Budapest, I must rest thoroughly and follow doctor's orders."
Rita concluded by apologising to fans who would be at the concert and expressed gratitude for their "understanding". She said: "I am so sorry to my fans who are going to be there today and I'm truly thankful for your understanding."
The festival has itself addressed the situation. Organisers shared Rita's statement on the platform and wrote in the caption, now translated into English: "[Her] crew has been working since dawn to set up the show ... we are devastated by the news too. Saturday's program of the main stage will be reorganized soon. We wish Rita a speedy recovery."
The cancellation of the performance on Saturday night was also confirmed by organisers on the festival's website. A similar statement to the one issued on social media further states: "[Rita] arrived in Hungary two days ago, but today's concert in Debrecen will be canceled due to illness."
Rita has been met with well wishes on social media this weekend. The news comes following her acclaimed performance at a festival in Vilnius in Lithuania on Thursday. She headlined the As Young As Vilnius festival in the capital.
After the show, Rita wrote about the experience in a post. She told her followers: "Lithuania you blew my mind! 50k people, in the pouring rain, I appreciate every single one of you and you brought the ENERGY. SO happy I got to headline the As You As Vilnius festival, an absolute honour."
According to her website, Rita's next scheduled gig is a few weeks ago. She's due to perform at the Lovestream Festival in Vajnory in Slovakia on August 16. She's listed as part of the line-up for the festival this year alongside the likes of 50 Cent, Macklemore and Chase & Status.
