Eamonn Holmes once shared what his now-estranged wife Ruth Langsford didn't allow him to have in their shared home, before they split up.

Previously speaking to Ruth's co-star Kaye Adams on her How To Be 60 podcast, Eamonn, 64, revealed that Ruth, also 64, wasn't particularly fond of his unusual hobby, which is finding his favourite old toys on the internet.

Addressing the items he liked to purchase, he shared: "I tell you what I do buy, and it meets disdain from my wife and my PA when she sees me doing it, I tend to look up toys.

"Toys from when I was about 10 years of age, so anything to do with Airfix, soldiers, Captain Scarlet toys, Dinky, Corgi.

"It's things that made me very happy when I was young and then Ruth shouts [when] things arrive, she doesn't allow them in the house and she calls them dust collectors."

The GB News presenter went on to claim that he wasn't "allowed to display anything" in their home, like when he was a child, adding: "When I was a kid I use to have lots of Action Men and I tried to buy Action Men again, but Ruth put the kibosh on them.

"I don't know it's just sort of pining after lost years isn't it?"

In an announcement nobody saw coming back in May, Eamonn and Ruth announced that they were heading for a divorce after 14 years of marriage.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, share a 22-year-old son together named Jack, as well as their dog Maggie.

The pair are yet to discuss the reason behind their split in their own words, but reports have suggested a number of factors that could've been behind the decision.

One of these reasons is believed to be Eamonn wanting to return to his hometown in Northern Ireland, while Ruth wanted to stay settled in Surrey.

In the same podcast, he shared: "I'd love to have a house nowadays probably a bungalow with a sea view. I'd love to breathe in sea air and I always associate that with Ireland. I think that would make me happy.

"Trouble is, Ruth wouldn't go. That's a little snag. She wouldn't go. I do like the idea. I do like the idea of being there."

Eamonn went on to say that despite his work on GB News being based in London, he's "never taken" to the capital city being his home.

Following their split, the pair are believed to be living separately, with Ruth taking control of their dog.

Today, she returned to Loose Women after an extended break, but didn't address their break-up.

Eamonn, on the other hand, thanked fans for their support, just days after their split was announced.
