This Morning faced a major change today as Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary hosted from outside.

Alison and Dermot are presenting the ITV show for some of the summer as main hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard take their usual summer break. However, as the UK celebrates the hottest day of the year so far, Alison and Dermot presented outside.

Usually, the show comes live from the studio but today, they headed outside to present the programme, where they were joined by various guests as well as This Morning experts. As they previewed what was to come on the show, Alison and Dermot crossed to travel expert Simon Calder as he announced what he'd be discussing later.

However, the show was hit by a technical blunder when his microphone stopped working, cutting out after every other word. It meant that they had to stop and switch back to them presenting.

It is certainly not the only show to be hit with the issues today after a global IT failure forced Sky News off air.

Presenter Jacquie Beltrao shared at the time: "We're obviously not on air - we're trying," whilst broadcaster Gareth Barlow added: "As you might have noticed, we're not on air at the moment - tech issues that don't seem limited to just@SkyNews. IT and production teams are working on a solution. See you, soon?!"

A message read on the channel: "We apologise for the interruption to this broadcast. We hope to restore the transmission of Sky News shortly," but later the show returned and was soon back to normal. Speaking on their return, the morning anchor reported on the news saying: "A major global IT outage is hitting businesses worldwide, including here at Sky News." The presenters referred to printed out notes during the report as the broadcaster got back on its feet.

Alison and Dermot are the first presenters leading the summer line-up on This Morning. Elsewhere, Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Rylan Clark, Rochelle Humes, Joel Dommett and Sian Welby will also take on presenting duties during the next few weeks.

This Morning’s editor, Martin Frizell, said: "Viewers will not want to miss a moment this summer! The shows will be packed and whatever the weather, the team in front of the cameras and behind will deliver plenty of content to keep the nation smiling. I’m delighted Alison and Dermot are kicking things off and together with our brilliant family of hosts - made up of the biggest names in TV - they will be serving up really exciting content on Britain's biggest daytime show."
