Jake Paul has offered Conor McGregor a boxing fight after the UFC star branded him a "little dweeb".

YouTube star Paul has long coveted a fight with two-time UFC world champion McGregor for several years but the Irishman has shown little interest. Earlier on Wednesday, during a press conference for Bare Knuckle FC, McGregor insulted Paul as he revealed he will be backing Mike Perry in his fight with the social media star on Saturday.

Perry has established a 5-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing while McGregor invested in BKFC earlier this year and has vowed to fight in the ring when he quits the UFC. Asked to respond to the Irishman's comments, Paul said: "First of all he's big upping the BKFC but you're going to see what I'm going to do to their best fighter on Saturday night. I'm going to embarrass their whole entire league, this guy has no skill.

"These guys are just brawler idiot street fighter dudes who have no idea what the sweet science is. Conor McGregor can say what he wants but he won't fight me either so once I knock out Mike Perry, Conor McGregor let's run it, but you won't do it because you know what's going to happen. You saw what I did to Nate Diaz who you went toe-to-toe with so Conor McGregor, get in the gym and start winning fights and maybe we can have a conversation."

Earlier McGregor had said: "Look at what has happened to Michael Perry, one of our big stars here. The King of Violence he titles himself and he's had such a rise in the sport and now he's up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend. We're all rooting for him. this is the real thing."

McGregor has not fought since he broke his leg at the end of the first round of his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier three years ago. He is set to return on December 14 against Michael Chandler after McGregor pulled out of their original fight on June 29 with a broken toe.

McGregor's only boxing fight came against Floyd Mayweather with the Dubliner losing by 10th-round stoppage in 2017. Paul, on the other hand has fought 10 times as a professional, losing just once to Tommy Fury last year. Paul has beaten several former UFC stars including Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Diaz.
