Government Allocates Over HUF 3,750B to Support Families in 2025

The 2025 budget proposed by the governing party, Fidesz-KDNP, focuses on family support, with over HUF 3,750B (EUR 9.17B) allocated for direct assistance to Hungarian families.
István Simicskó of the KDNP (Christian Democratic People’s Party), highlighted that before 2010, under left-wing governments, having children often meant financial hardship. The politician pointed out that Hungary has been consistently improving family living conditions and promoting childbearing for 14 years.
He mentioned several key measures, including a family-friendly tax system, early retirement options for women with 40 years of service, vouchers, baby loans, subsidized housing loans, the development of crèches and kindergartens, social security benefits, free school books, childcare support for large families, and the Erzsébet camps.
Mr. Simicskó noted that these benefits have already reached a significant portion of Hungarian society.
In response to the ongoing global political and economic challenges, István Simicskó announced that the government would double the family tax allowance for children in two phases, aiming to provide more security and predictability for families. He stressed that Hungary remains committed to prioritizing the interests of its families both today and in the future, regardless of the current uncertainty in global affairs.
