Demand for non-alcoholic wines

Having non-alcoholic beers on offer in shops, pubs and restaurants in Slovakia has been a matter of course already for years. On the other hand, dealcoholized wines and spirits are rather scarce. This is gradually changing while Slovakia follows a global trend.

“We are beginning to see a growing interest in these products in Slovakia as well, but not yet to such a large extent as the world is showing,” Jaroslava Kaňúchová-Pátková, executive director of the Grape and Wine Producers of Slovakia (ZVVS), told The Slovak Spectator.

Hubert J.E., producer of sects based in Sereď, has been producing a dealcoholized sect for more than 10 years, and some other wine producers have testing the production of dealcoholized wines.

“The consumer, and especially the younger adult generation, is increasingly accepting of dealcoholized sects,” Peter Havriľák, the company’s brand manager, told The Slovak Spectator. “A growing proportion of them are trying to eliminate alcoholic beverages.”
