Recruitment agency has surveyed work practices of employees in terms of home office.

More than half, or 51 percent, of the employees who work from home in Slovakia see "home office" as a matter of course when 13 percent cannot even imagine not having this possibility, results of a survey conducted by the recruitment agency Grafton Slovakia indicates. On the contrary, companies perceive a negative impact of working from home, be it, for example, teamwork, or employees' psychological well-being or even mental health. Employers also assess working from home from the point of view of performance and greater supervision of their employees.

"Thus, in many branches, hybrid work will probably be the best way in the future, when employees alternate working from home and in an office environment," said Jitka Kouba, marketing director of Grafton agency, as quoted by the SITA newswire.

Based on their analysis of the labour market, today 7 percent of employees work exclusively from home. Most of them, up to 27 percent, work in the IT field. On the contrary, employees from the field of trade and marketing work exclusively in an office environment - up to 60 percent.

The survey further shows that approximately two-thirds of representatives of workers in the field of human resources, administration, law, finance, business or marketing and three-quarters of IT workers use one of variants of flexibility at work, thanks to which they make time for themselves, their families or to keep house. Blue-collar workers also have certain forms of working time arrangement available, especially the possibility to work overtime or a flexible start and end of working hours. However, employers provide such benefits to a much smaller extent than their employees would like.

"White-collar workers, outside of IT staff, are the worst off in this respect," said Kouba. More than 90 percent of them would welcome the opportunity to work from home or flexible working hours, but only slightly more than half of them are provided with this option by their employers.
