PN MP Chris Said has said that he will not be contesting the next general election.

The MP made the statement during a PN activity organized at the PN club in Sannat on Saturday.

Said, who was elected on the 13^th district in 2022, had also served as a minister for Justice in 2012 under the PN government at the time. He had first been elected to Parliament in 2008.

Recently, Said proposed that while retaining the Ministry for Gozo and its respective minister, Gozo should have its own council with executive powers that can function as the principal decision-maker of the sister island. Said clarified that this idea to transfer some power over Gozo to Gozitans stems from his own personal stance.
