The compensation will be given directly as credit in the consumers' bills, with letters expected in the coming days to confirm the compensation given.

ARMS announced on Facebook that an ex gratia (meaning voluntary and not-legally obliging) payment will be issued to its consumers who suffered more than 6 consecutive hours of electricity interruption during the summer of 2024.

Following the outages, concentrated between June and July of 2024, Enemalta had taken emergency measures such as the deployment of 14 diesel-powered generators in various localities in a bid to tackle the stubborn power cuts in various localities over Malta and Gozo

In its social media post, ARMS said that residential, eligible consumers have had their accounts identified and are set to have refunds "processed automatically as a credit" with a letter to be expected in the coming days, confirming the credit on consumers' accounts.

ARMS said that non-residential consumers are still eligible but are required to apply for the refund via Malta Enterprise through an official application process.
