13-year-old girl hit by a car

A 13-year-old girl was hit by a car while she was riding a bicycle in Mtarfa on Sunday.

Police said that the accident happened at around 10:15am in Triq Sir Philip Pullicino and preliminary investigations showed that the girl was hit while she was riding a bicycle by a Ford B Max which was being driven by a 25-year-old man from Mtarfa.

The girl was given medical assistance on site before being transferred to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

She was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that their investigations are ongoing.
