The Nationalist Party is not credible on many issues, the Planning Authority being one of them, the Labour Party said Wednesday.
Reacting to a Nationalist Part statement saying that Malta needed a Planning Authority, not a Permit Authority, the PL said that under GonziPN, MEPA was a total mess.
"Ask anyone who wanted to make a simple, legitimate alteration inside his house - it was an ordeal.
"Ask investors who wanted to invest and create new jobs in a legitimate way and who would require a place to work from - they would find closed doors.
"Ask a farmer who would require a simple permit to carry out his work in a more efficient and legitimate way - he would get a straight 'no'," the PL said.
With regard to Fort Chambray, not only did the PN agree with the latest developments in Fort Chambray, but even the Nationalist Mayor of Għajnsielem came out in favour describing the development at the Fort as the 'best choice'.
The Nationalist Mayor said that the barracks will not be destroyed but will be taken down and rebuilt as they are in a different place.
Regarding the Villa Rosa project, the hypocrisy of the PN is unbelievable, the PL said. Bernard Grech never denied that he met the developers in private and told them to go ahead with the project so that if he is Prime Minister, he will inaugurate it himself, the PL said.
