A man who was found guilty of killing his partner while she was sleeping had his life sentence confirmed on appeal.
Rita Ellul, aged 49, was found dead in an apartment in Għajnsielem on 29 February 2022.
The autopsy concluded that the woman had been strangled.
The woman's partner, Lawrence Abina, was accused him of Ellul's murder, and he was found guilty in a trial by jury last March.
He was sentenced to life in prison.
The court, presided by Chief Justice Mark Chetcuti and Judges Edwina Grima and Giovanni Grixti, concluded that the grounds of appeal were "completely unfounded", rejected it and confirmed the original court's sentence in its entirety.
