Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove is awake and has talked to medical staff and relatives after spending the night in intensive care, following a scary on-pitch collapse during the Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter on Sunday afternoon.

According to Italian media, the 22-year-old is awake and no longer intubated.

'Thank you everyone," were his first words after waking up.

The match between Fiorentina and Inter was suspended in the 17th minute after Bove collapsed and was quickly rushed to an ambulance on the side of the pitch.
