In two decisions by the Broadcasting Authority, PBS was found guilty of breaching a directive from the Broadcasting Authority regarding Budget adverts, the Natiuonalist Party said in a statement Friday.
After the Public Broadcasting Services continued to challenge even the Court's order and persisted in broadcasting such adverts, the Broadcasting Authority ordered PBS to cease airing any Budget adverts without prior approval from the Authority itself.
PBS violated this directive on at least two occasions and was therefore found guilty of broadcasting these adverts illegally, the PN said.
Due to his weakness, Robert Abela is forcing PBS to break the law by broadcasting illegal adverts, the PN said in a statement signed by Claudette Buttigieg, Shadow Minister for Public Administration, Public Broadcasting, and the Fight Against Diabetes.
The PN said it will continue to take all necessary measures to stop Robert Abela and his Government from using the station, which is supposed to serve the people, as if it were Super One 2.
In the proceedings before the Broadcasting Authority, the PN was represented by Secretary General Michael Piccinino and Lawyer Paul Borg Olivier.
