Two people were injured in a quad bike accident in Gozo on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said in a statement that the accident happened at around 2:30pm in Triq ta’ Ghajn Hosna in Xaghra, Gozo.

Preliminary investigations showed that the two victims were a 57-year-old man and a 54-year-old man who were both British nationals.

The man was in control of the vehicle, while the woman was the passenger, when they lost control of the quad bike and fell off.

They were taken to Gozo General Hospital for care and were certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that investigations are ongoing.
