Businesses agree with the PN that Malta needs to change direction, Nationalist Party says

The Nationalist Party has said that a survey among SMEs which shows that 80% believe Malta is heading in the wrong direction is proof that even businesses and investors agree with the party that the government needs to change the country's direction.
"The Government needs to make decisions that reassure businesses and investors," the PN said in a statement.
It said that the urgent need for our country to change direction is being felt by many, not least by small and medium-sized businesses.
The PN said that the survey published by the Chamber of SMEs confirms what the Opposition has been saying for some time, "that our country needs to change course and adopt a different economic model."
80% of those surveyed in this study by the Malta Chamber of SMEs and MISCO said our country is moving in the wrong direction. 57% expressed uncertainty about whether it's a good time to invest in the next twelve months, and 30% responded that they certainly will not invest, the PN observed.
"The same survey highlights the growing uncertainty among business owners in our country. Those surveyed listed poor governance, the constant traffic, population growth, corruption, and unfair competition as the main factors negatively impacting their operations and activities," the party continued.
The PN said that it expects that the Government, beyond the empty words heard in the budget speech presented two days ago, will act immediately and make those decisions that can reassure business owners in Malta and Gozo, as they are the engine that strengthens our country's economy.
The statement was signed by the PN's Shadow Minister for the Self-Employed, Small Enterprises, and Cooperatives Robert Cutajar.
