"The Police Force has continued its coordinated enforcement efforts on all levels and across various sectors. In recent days, a number of inspections related to immigration have been carried out to ensure that individuals present in our country are doing so in accordance with the country's laws."
In Ħamrun, Qawra, Santa Venera, and in St. Paul's Bay, the Police conducted inspections that involved other entities, including detention services, Identita, and Jobsplus, with a focus on workplaces and public areas, it said in a statement.
"These inspections, which involved several individuals, led to the discovery of 45 people living in Malta irregularly, and the process was immediately initiated to return them to the country from which they came and where they have permission to reside. The Police Force will continue this work as part of a proactive strategy within the heart of the communities."
