Maris Camilleri has been appointed acting chief executive officer of the Centre for the Maltese Language, replacing Norma Saliba who resigned to take on a position at the Labour Party.
Camilleri is a visiting research fellow of the University of Essex, after previously serving as a lecturer at the Department of Languages and Linguistics at the same univeristy, syntax lecturer at the Queen Mary University and casual lecturer at the University of Malta.
Her works have been published in academic journals.
Camilleri will serve as Acting CEO as the government seeks to consult with the National Council for the Maltese Language.
