PN says it has information on

The Nationalist Party said on Friday that it has in its possession more information regarding people registered with their identity cards on addresses of a number of properties, yet who did not live there.

The PN issued a statement saying it 'confirmed' a Times of Malta article which reported that dozens of third-country nationals have registered their addresses at properties linked to two Gozitan construction magnates, even though they do not live there.

The report spoke about five addresses in three properties in Gozo owned by Mark Agius and fellow developer Daniel Refalo, both close associates of mega developer Joseph Portelli.

In the list of details, the Nationalist Party said it holds information that shows that 25 people were registered at Janique House in Triq Marsalforn, Xagħra, Gozo. The PN continued that 19 people were registered at Flat 1, Agius Buildings, in Triq Qasam, Rabat, Gozo, and 26 people were registered at Flat 2 of the same building.  The PN said 33 people were registered at Flat 1, Agius Court, in Triq Qasam, Rabat, Gozo and 16 people were registered at Flat 3 in the same building. Moreover, 20 people were registered at Il-Merill, Flat 4, in Triq il-Gajdoru, Xagħra, Gozo.

"It is impossible for these properties to have all these individuals registered as residents at these locations. Allegedly, this is part of what we know about the scandal engulfing the Identità agency," the PN said.

It said that this information will be retained and form part of the collection of information regarding the Identità racket.

The Nationalist Party reminded that it is gathering information under strict confidentiality, and renewed its appeal to send any information to pnsupport@pn.org.mt, along with any documents that individuals may have in their possession that could be of help.

The PN also reminded that there is currently a request for an investigation before the Auditor General, made by the three Nationalist Party members in the Public Accounts Committee, as well as a Magisterial Inquiry into the Identità scandal, initiated by lawyer Jason Azzopardi.

The PN reiterated that Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri has "disappeared," and spoke of three proposals it had made, which have been public for some time. It reiterated its proposal to create a system where property owners have the right to know how many people, and who is registered as living on their property.

The PN also called for the publishing of the internal investigation the Ministry is said to have conducted on this scandal.

Lastly, the PN reiterated its call for Camilleri's resignation as Home Affairs Minister.
