Mattarella says rise in immigrant artisans is wealth
Talks between institutions and social partners needed
President Sergio Mattarella said
Wednesday that a rise in immigrant artisans in Italy was a
source of wealth.
"The increase in artisans among immigrants is a positive sign,"
Mattarella told the General Assembly of Confartigianato in Rome.
"It helps to enrich and keep alive skills and professions that
can reactivate circuits at risk of interruption.
"It develops talents, innovates products and markets. "Social
interlocutors, intermediate bodies, such as your association,
alongside an activity of representing interests, express a
valuable function as a social actor".
Mattarella added that discussions between institutions and
social partners is needed.
"There are challenges that concern concrete choices and I hope
that the discussion between institutions and social partners,
between the various levels of institutions and intermediate
bodies, is always open and constructive," he said.
"As should be the dialogue on your part with the trade unions".
