Ex premier and populist 5-Star Movement (M5S) leader Giuseppe Conte on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump, "the 47th president of the United States, thanks to a clear victory, extended to the popular vote".
    "Multiple challenges are awaiting the United States and concern us all: stopping ongoing wars, fighting with utmost firmness violations of international humanitarian law, opening to a multipolar vision of new geo-political balances, aiming at fair rules for international trade, avoiding a protectionist escalation of tariffs and counter-tariffs", Conte wrote on X.
