Pope voices closeness 'to people of Valencia'
Over 'catastrophe' caused by flash floods
Pope Francis on Thursday expressed
his "closeness to the people of Valencia" at "this disastrous
time" after deadly flash floods hit Spain.
"I pray for them" he said, referring to the victims of
devastating flash floods and to the entire population in a video
sent to the Spanish diocese in which he sent his blessing.
At least 105 people were reported to have died on Thursday in
one of the deadliest floodings to hit Spain after torrential
rain battered the eastern region of Valencia.
