'Fair peace, humanitarian needs' in Zelensky Vatican talks
Ukrainian president met Secretary of State Parolin after pope
Talks at the Secretariat of State
with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky focused on the state
of the war and on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, as well
as a possible end to the conflict that would bring fair and
stable peace, the Vatican's press office said Friday after
Zelensky met with Pope Francis and Secretary of State Pietro
Parolin.
The meeting at the Secretariat of State was "dedicated to the
state of the war and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, as
well as the ways that could end it, bringing a fair and stable
peace in the country", according to the statement released by
the Vatican press office the meeting between Zelensky and the
pontiff and Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, who was
companied by Mons. Paul Richard Gallagher, the Secretary for
Relations with States .
"Moreover, some issues concerning religious life in the country
were also examined", the statement added.
