Brescia businessman arrested over alleged NRRP fraud scheme
Worth 700,000 euros
A 45-year-old entrepreneur has been
arrested in Brescia by finance police on charges of aggravated
fraud against the State and money laundering, among others, for
allegedly illegally obtaining 700,000 euros in funding from the
post-Covid National Recovery and Resilience (NRRP),
investigative sources said Thursday.
According to investigators, the businessman who buys, sells and
rents luxury cars, had access to the funding by presenting false
business plans and forged credentials, among others.
The man is also accused of having illicitly obtained the payment
of the 'citizenship wage' minimum-income benefit for several
months.
