Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Tuesday he had spoken on the phone with his Israeli counterpart Israel Katz who had reassured him about Italy's request to ensure maximum protection to the UNIFIL contingent.
    "Long phone conversation with Israeli Froeign Minister Israel Katz", Tajani wrote on X.
    "Italy's request to ensure maximum protection to the UNIFIL contingent reiterated.
    "He has once again reassured me about it.
    "Italy's diplomatic work for peace in the Middle East continues", wrote Tajani.
