Bad weather to hit Italy for f

A fresh bout of bad weather is set to hit Italy for four days starting on Tuesday with a new Atlantic storm front fed by cold air across the Centre and part of the North, said forecaster Lorenzo Tredici of the www.iLMeteo.it website.
    Tredici said Liguria and Tuscany will the first regions to be hit by rain on Tuesday, followed in the evening by the Pianura Padana area.
    Meanwhile the weather will remain sunny in the rest of the country with peaks in temperatures of 27-29°C in the South and 25°C in Rome.
    On Wednesday, the bad weather front will progress to other areas of central Italy and the North-East, in particular the Veneto region, while the weather will remain sunny in southern Italy with temperatures reaching peaks of 31°C in Bari, Catania and Siracusa.
    Intense rain and storms have also been forecast in the South on Thursday, with the exception of Calabria and Sicily, said Tredici.
    Heavy rain Friday is expected to pummel the Emilia Romagna region where a state of emergency was declared last month due to floods caused by intense rain, as well as Friuli and most of the Adriatic area, according to forecasts.
    "The snow could fall on the Alps and northern Apennine Mountains over 1,700-1,800 metres", said Tredici.
