Former Shelbourne favourite Will Jarivs completed a permanent move to Notts County last night.

And his former title-winning team-mate at the Reds, Shane Griffin, has today joined First Division outfit Cobh Ramblers.

Englishman Jarvis was a big hit at Shels during an initial loan spell in 2023 and returned for a second temporary stint in 2024.

The attacker was a key reason why Damien Duff’s men made such a storming start to the season, setting the foundations for their title win.

He scored nine goals and provided six assists before Hull City prematurely ended his loan spell by recalling him in August.

It was a significant blow at the time, although Duff’s charges regrouped and eventually got over the line without him.

But any slim hopes Shels had of landing him on a permanent deal ahead of the 2025 League of Ireland season have now been dashed.

Jarivs last night signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the League Two club, who are sixth in the table and in the mix for promotion.

Notts County boss Stuart Maynard said: “It’s an incredible deal for the club. Will’s a goal threat and a dribbler who will get the fans off their seats.”

Meanwhile, defender Griffin has returned to his native Cork to join Cobh Ramblers having won the Premier Division at Shels in 2024.

The 30-year-old was also a league winner with Cork City in 2017 and said of his Ramblers switch: “I’m delighted to be signing for the club.

“When I spoke with the manager he told me of the plans to progress the club and that’s something that I’m looking forward to being a part of.

“My aim is to contribute on the pitch and be successful, and also to help the young talented players within the group.”

New Cobh Ramblers boss Michael McDermott said: “We have been working on this deal for quite some time.

“Shane is a player that has enjoyed a highly successful career at the highest levels and I was keen to get this quality into our club.

“He is a winner, he is a leader and he will bring vast experience to our team.”
