Late Late Show not on tonight - as RTE shares huge news for next week's episode
The Late Late Show will not air tonight after hosting a New Year special earlier this week - but RTE have confirmed it will return on January 10 with a special show lined up.
Fans of The Late Late Show may be in for a shock tonight when they discover that the RTE talk show won't be airing on its usual Friday night slot. It comes after Patrick Kielty and the team helped Ireland ring in the New Year with a special episode on Tuesday night.
RTE addressed tonight's schedule change in an Instagram post and reassured fans that it will be back next week with a "brilliant show". A spokesperson said: "We’re back with another brilliant show next Friday, January 10th."
It comes as the broadcaster has shared huge news for next week's episode, confirming that it will be a celebration of Tradfest. RTE said: "Expect a fantastic blend of traditional tunes and songs by a hand-picked group of Ireland's finest musicians including Sean Keane, Aoife Scott and Mike Hanrahan."
For those seeking alternatives for their disrupted Friday night routine tonight, RTE One will be screening the the film Michael Collins as a replacement. Michael Collins tells the story of Irish Revolutionary Collins from his days in the Easter Rising, to the War of Independence and the Anglo-Irish Treaty,and ultimately his assassination in his home county of Cork.

It stars Liam Neeson as Michael Collins, the late great Alan Rickman as Eamon De Valera and Julia Roberts as Collins's love interest, Kitty Kiernan.
Over on RTE2, The Claremont Murders begins from 9.40pm. It's part one of two of the Australian crime drama about the 25-year hunt for the killer behind the disappearance of several young women.
If you're still in need of a chat show fix, the line-up for the Graham Norton Show on BBC has been announced. Joining Graham on the red couch this evening are Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Billy Porter and Claudia Winkleman - with music from singer-songwriter Myles Smith, performing Nice to Meet You.
