Security to be ramped up at Donald Trump's Irish golf resort after Las Vegas truck explosion
The general manager of Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg, Co Clare, said measures would be taken to protect staff and guests in light of recent events
Security at Donald Trump’s golf resort in Ireland is set to be ramped up following the truck explosion outside one of his hotels in Las Vegas.
The general manager of Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg, Co Clare, said measures would be taken to protect staff and guests in light of recent events.
A Tesla Cybertruck exploded and burst into flames on Wednesday just outside the entrance of Trump International Hotel, killing a person inside the vehicle and injuring several others standing nearby.

The blast came hours after a driver in a rented pickup truck who was flying an ISIS flag ploughed into New Year’s Eve revellers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
At least 15 people were killed and more than 30 others injured before the driver was shot dead by police.
That pickup truck and the Tesla in the Las Vegas explosion were rented from the same company.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror last night, Joe Russell, general manager of Trump’s resort in Doonbeg, said: "We always had an element of security here among our staff and for our guests.
"That would be ramped up and we’re considering everything regarding what’s going on and it’s not something we’re going to disclose.
"We have our arrangements in place and the exact detail of it will not be disclosed."
