Children of Irish woman who died in house fire on Monday 'have lost everything'
Debbie Burns, 54, tragically died following a fire at her home in New Barnsley Park, West Belfast, on Monday, December 16, and her three children now face a tough road ahead
A heartbroken family is appealing for support after their beloved Debbie Burns tragically perished in a house fire at New Barnsley Park in West Belfast on Monday, December 16. Her three children, Debbieleagh, Gavin, and Brandon, are overwhelmed with grief following not only the loss of their mother but also their father Liam who died in 2011, as well as losing their family home.
Dorothea Burns, Debbie's niece, told Belfast Live about how the West Belfast community has come together to support the grieving siblings. According to her, "We are just trying to do something to support Debbieleagh, Gavin and Brandon who have been completely devastated by the tragic loss of their mum Debbie.
"Their father passed away in 2011, which was a huge loss to them and now to lose their mother and their family home, they have basically lost everything."

She went on to describe the outpouring of care from the local area, explaining, "This week we have been trying to do what we can to support them and we are so thankful for the community here in West Belfast and across the rest of the city who have rallied around and provided so much support and kindness.
"However, it is going to be a very tough road ahead and Debbie's children are now looking at the costs of an expensive funeral and even more expensive repairs to their mum's home as it wasn't insured at the time of the fire," she explained.
"In order to try and help them with this and any other issues they may face over the coming weeks, I have set up a Gofundme page to try and raise as much money as we can to help them at this heartbreaking time," reports Belfast Live.
"Over the past few days there have been so many people offering to lend their support directly and we felt that this was the best way to go about it.
"I would just like to thank everyone who has helped us so far and we want to focus on doing all we can for Debbieleagh, Gavin and Brandon."
