A rock star has confirmed he is living as a man again after coming out as a trans woman.

Mina Caputo, 50, is the lead singer of rock band Life of Agony and has revealed he is reclaiming his former name - Keith. He claimed his "gender dysphoria has been cured". In a message on social media, Caputo said: "Surgery has been booked to remove my fake breasts, and I will be lovingly living in my divine male self.

"I’ve cured my gender dysphoria. It took many years. A lot of walking through the fire, but I rose above my misunderstandings of my soul and my spirit." De-transitioning means stopping or reversing a gender transition. It can include medical treatment or changes in appearance, or both.

Caputo identified as Mina in 2008 and publicly came out as transgender in 2011. The singer decided to share the latest announcement as fans kept leaving comments under posts stating he 'looked like a man'. Caputo said: "I’m making this video because a lot of people throwing me shade, saying I look ugly, and I look like a man.

"It’s like honey lamb, I am a man, I always was a man. You’re just not used to hearing authentic people speak. You’re used to people spitting lies at you about their identity..." Caputo confirmed he has been off hormones for the past six to seven years and will fully de-transition next year.

He continued: "Yes, I'm off of hormones, six, seven years now and this January 2025 and I am — my surgery has been booked to remove my fake breasts and I will be lovingly living in my divine male self. I'll be physically completely de-transitioned in 2025. I can't wait. I feel so free. I’m very proud of myself.

"I’ve been through so much over the years. I wouldn’t wish gender dysphoria on my worst enemy. It’s one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever been through in my life, and I’m just so happy that it is f***ing over." Life of Agony has albums A Place Where There's No More Pain and The Sound of Scars.

The band's bassist and co-founder Alan Robert supported Caputo in the video's comments. Robert wrote: "Proud of your journey and your raw honesty. Always here for you no matter what. We ain’t blood but we are real family." Caputo was born in Brooklyn, New York and previously shared how he had struggled with gender dysphoria.

He once told Rolling Stone: "My grandmother used to dress me to go to school, and I asked her, 'Why can't you dress me in girls' clothes?' She says, 'You're not a girl. Don't tell Grandpa you want to dress up as a girl and go to school. He'll f***ing kill you. He'll kill me.'"
