New Derry boss Paddy Tally major coup as he lands All-Ireland winning backroom man
Tally was appointed last week, replacing Mickey Harte, and is currently putting his plans in place for the 2025 season.
New Derry boss Paddy Tally has pulled off a major coup by landing leading strength and conditioning coach Cairbre O Cairealláin.
O Cairealláin has been a key cog in the backroom teams of two All-Ireland winning hurling sides - Liam Sheedy’s Tipperary and John Kiely’s Limerick.
The former Antrim hurler revealed in an interview that he was working full time with the Limerick senior hurling squad.

It will be interesting to see if he takes up a similar role with the Derry senior squad.
O Cairealláin will join a backroom team that includes Paul McIver (Head Coach) and former Derry players Paul McFlynn and Kevin McGuckin.
He previously worked with the Arsenal ladies side and has gone on to forge a big reputation for himself.
