Jennifer Garner has chosen to restrict her contact with Jennifer Lopez to only matters related to her children, according to sources. The sources suggest that Garner felt used as a pawn during the breakdown of Lopez's marriage to Ben Affleck and now only wants to communicate when it pertains to her kids.
This follows JLo's divorce filing from the award-winning actor, during which Garner played the role of 'marriage counselor' while the Hollywood couple tried to reconcile before ultimately proceeding with the divorce.
Garner and Lopez are connected through their shared relationship with Ben. Garner was married to Affleck for over a decade, and they have three children together, Violet Anne, 18, Seraphina Rose, 15, and Samuel, 12.

After their divorce, Affleck rekindled a relationship with Lopez, whom he had previously dated, and they later married. The pair wed in wed in July 2022 but later broke Bennifer fans' hearts around the world when they announced they were calling it quits after just two years of marriage.
Sources have since revealed the critical role Garner played in the reconciliation of her ex-husbands marriage to Lopez, which ultimately took a toll on the star.
A source told The Daily Mail : "Jen no longer wishes to have communication with JLo unless it is do with the kids."
The source added: "Her friends feel she shouldn’t have allowed herself to get so involved in helping JLo to fix her marriage to Ben.
"Especially considering Jen felt pitted against JLo at times during their own marriage. Jen is too nice and truly wanted to help, so she tried."
Things came to a head when JLo's sister, Lynda went to visit Garner's daughter, Violet, at her university.
"JLo getting close to Violet felt odd to Jen and then Lynda popping up at Violet’s school. Jen’s loyalty is to the father of her kids - Ben - and their children. Because they love JLo.
"But Jen would never badmouth her or speak negatively about her."
They source added: "Everyone knows that if JLo wanted to spend time with her children aside from Violet, it would have to go through Jen."
Friends of Garner, 52, reportedly said she was forced to ‘play mediator’ in an attempt to smooth the couple’s issues and preserve Affleck’s sobriety. “Jen feels slightly used as a pawn in J-Lo's bid to repair her marriage,” the source said. “She doesn't believe it was intentional.”
“She was put in the middle and her friends think - no matter how you look at it - a man's ex-wife should never have to play mediator in a divorce from his new wife,' they said. “Especially when said wife was a big love who Jen was compared to throughout their 13-year marriage. She is happy that Ben is now happy.”
Businessman John Miller, who previously was married to Garner, also chimed in on the matter.
An insider said: "‘He cares deeply for Ben and sympathizes with what he is going through with Jennifer, but that doesn’t mean Jen should be the one to fix her ex-husband’s issues with his current wife."
