Eurovision legends Charlie McGettigan and Paul Harrington have released a charity Christmas single.

The pair are guests of honour at this year’s Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services’ (OLH&CS) Light Up A Life Remembrance Ceremony.

We’ll Be Missing You is the first original recording from the duo in 30 years, since their Eurovision win with Rock ‘n’ Roll Kids in 1994.

Speaking about the new release, Paul Harrington said: "The Rock ‘n’ Roll Kids are back together, and for a special and important cause.

"We hope listeners old and new will enjoy the new track all the while raising money for a cause very close to people’s hearts."

The new song is about remembering loved ones at Christmas-time - those who have passed away, as well as those who are unable to be close.

Proceeds raised from the new track will go towards OLH&CS in Harold’s Cross, Blackrock and Wicklow.

Charlie McGettigan added: "As Light Up A Life approaches, we are busily preparing for an afternoon of remembrance and song.

"We hope that the new track will give people a taster ahead of what will no doubt be a very special afternoon for all who attend."

Harrington and McGettigan will perform the new single at OLH&CS’s annual Light Up A Life Remembrance Ceremony, taking place at Harold’s Cross hospice on December 1 with free admission.

The event, now in its 32nd year and expected to attract more than 10,000 people, will culminate in the lighting of the Light Up A Life Christmas tree.

Mary Flanagan, Chief Executive Officer of Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services said: "We are beyond grateful to Paul and Charlie for their time and effort in the run up to Light Up A Life. As well as performing festive classics with us on Sunday, 1st December, We’ll Be Missing You is a beautiful song with a very important message for loved ones near and far.

"We really hope our supporters get behind the new release, which directly supports the important work our hundreds of staff and volunteers do across our three sites and throughout the communities we serve," she added.

The new single is available to buy and download via the online Light Up A Life Christmas Shop here.

As well as purchasing the new single, people can opt to buy Light Up A Life sponsored lights in honour of loved ones, which are displayed online, as well as a full range of festive decorations, cards and pins which are available to purchase online.
