Patrick Kielty had an impressive guest lineup for Friday night's Late Late Show, featuring a Hollywood sensation and an Irish rock music legend.

While the guests generally lived up to their high-profile reputations Adam Clayton and Samantha Barry in particular received heaps of praise online — one of the top guests didn't quite make the grade with viewers, reports Galway Beo.

Graham Norton's appearance didn’t wow the audience, with some suggesting they were somewhat weary of him, saying he'd only just been on the show. Fans expressed their views with comments like "Love Graham Norton, but was he not on the show about 5 mins ago?!" and "The Late Late is just the same people on repeat every season".

Graham Norton was on the show to discuss his new book, Frankie, and the one notable chat show guest that slipped away, which became a source of inspiration, as well as his upbringing in Cork and his decision to step down from his radio gig.

Paul Mescal discussed his latest hit movie Gladiator II—perhaps a tad excessively for some viewers' tastes.

Though actors and musicians often go on talk shows to promote their work, The Late Late Show's extended interviews typically allow the stars to move beyond the promotional spiel to engage in more meaningful conversation. Adam Clayton, U2's bass guitarist and global rock icon, was met with enthusiasm as he offered insights into U2's journey, their legendary Las Vegas shows, and his personal challenges over the years.

Samantha Barry impressed the audience and TV viewers with her insider's perspective on working for the globally renowned Glamour magazine. Now stepping into the role of Global Editorial Director, she discussed the weight of the responsibility and shared her insights on the political climate in the US during and post-election.
