Maura Higgins gets Vicky Pattison's seal of approval to date best mate Pete Wicks
TV star Vicky Pattison has shared her thoughts on her best mate Pete Wicks' new romance with Love Island star Maura Higgins ahead of her stint on I'm A Celeb
Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has weighed in on her best pal Pete Wicks' new romance.
Former TOWIE cast member Pete, 36, finally confirmed his romance with Love Island's Maura Higgins, 33, after weeks of speculation. The new couple enjoyed a glam date night in London this week ahead of her departure to Australia as she takes part in this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.
Maura will be a late arrival to the Australian jungle camp along with author Reverend Richard Coles. She made sure to spend time with Pete ahead of her time on the show having been friends since 2019, and only recently taking their friendship to the next level. Vicky, who is a close friend of Pete, has now issued her verdict on the new couple.

She revealed Pete keeps her out of his love life, which Vicky confessed is "probably for the best". "I'm such a nosy cow, so I know nothing about what's going on," she told the Sun. "Maura's absolutely gorgeous and like, if they were together, they would absolutely have my seal of approval, he knows that for sure."
Vicky added: "I’m not even pleading ignorance on this one." She then heaped on the praise for Maura ahead of her stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle. The TV star, who won the show in 2015, branded Maura "hard as nails".
Maura recently spoke about her relationship with Pete during an interview on the We Need To Talk podcast with Paul Brunson. She said she had a real connection with the former The Only Way Is Essex star. “We just get on very, very well. I adore him, he’s an amazing person,” she explained.
“Do you know what's so weird? We met very soon after me coming off Love Island and we just instantly clicked. Our humour is the same. It’s like that sick, dark humour. It's very abusive. We abuse each other. Very nasty, it’s hilarious,” Maura laughed. Maura and Pete confirmed their relationship last month as they were spotted smooching outside East London restaurant Gloria at the end of a romantic meal.
It wasn't the first time they were seen sharing a kiss as back in August they cosied up together at a London hotspot. At the time, an onlooker claimed the duo "looked totally in love" and shared a "very passionate" smooch. Maura seemed to hint at a blossoming romance when it was announced that Pete would be appearing on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Under a post announcing his show stint, Maura playfully commented: "I know what those hips can do PROUD OF YOU! ! ! ! ! ! ! !" Although Pete and Maura have kept quiet about their undeniable chemistry, guests at the Pride of Britain Awards in October were left with no doubt as to their feelings for each other. Maura was seen planting a tender kiss on Pete's nose, followed by a kiss on the lips.
