Ireland's self-confessed top Trump supporter admitted the US Presidential win on Wednesday was "one of the best days of my life".

Sarah Louise Mulligan said she was such a massive fan that she forked out over €500 last year to secure a room at Trump-owned Doonbeg Golf Links in Co. Clare when she read about his impending visit.

The 42-year-old Dubliner has been an advocate for Trump since he appeared on the TV show, The Apprentice.

"Today is one of the best days of my life," she gushed. "I'm so emotional. I was so apprehensive last night, I woke up sweating. I have always loved his straightforward attitude and his policies, including the protection of the unborn child. I think Ireland can learn a lot from how the US voted.

"It was a Godly win and I think he will go down as a US peace-making President because I think one of the first things he will do is promote peace in both the middle-east and in Ukraine."

Sarah Louise forked out hundreds of euro to stay in Doonbeg in May 2023 to try and get a glimpse of her hero.

"The minute I read in the media that he was coming to Clare, I spent five or six hundred euro on a room at Doonbeg on the day. By chance, I was sitting in the bar with a friend when Donald Trump and his son Eric, as well as their huge security team, came in and sat next to us. I took loads of pictures and a video but I didn't get to speak to him.

"I briefly spoke to his son Eric and told him I was his dad's number one fan and he smiled. I cried with emotion, I was so happy to see him. I have appeared in a lot of media and I'm sure Secret Service would have checked out who was staying in the hotel so I'm sure he has heard about me.

"I'm a huge fan and I'm not afraid to say it but unfortunately, I've lost a lot of friends because of it over the years."

On the back of Trump's US win, Sarah Louise says she is giving serious consideration to running in the Irish Presidential election.

"I'm not expecting to win, but I would like a forum to raise certain issues," she said.
