Fans may be excited to see Coleen Rooney in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, but she won't be able to face certain trials, it has been claimed.

ITV bosses signed up Wayne Rooney's wife for the upcoming jungle journey and it's thought they are hoping she will spill the tea on her recent legal battle with Rebekah Vardy. She won't, however, be up for every trial allegedly due to a health issue that was triggered by the Wagatha case.

The 38-year-old suffers from reactive arthritis, which affects joints and can be set off due to stress. She previously said the bitter legal battle she faced had triggered a crippling bout of the condition. Now, execs from the hit series are said to be trying to ensure she is kept happy and healthy.

A source told The Sun that the show's medics will try to ease her condition if she has a flare up Down Under. The insider said: "The duty of care on I’m A Celeb is second to none and over the years the cast have been ruled out of challenges for a string of different reasons.

“Some might have seemed trivial to viewers but the health and happiness of the celebs is of execs’ utmost concern. Coleen’s reactive arthritis being triggered by stress means execs want to wrap her in cotton wool and keep her happy and healthy.”

The source added: "The condition is currently under control so at this stage it’s a ‘could be’ ruled out rather than a ‘will be’. But her physical health will be monitored and, if she suffers a flare-up, her ability to perform each trial will be considered on a case-by-case basis.”

According to the NHS, reactive arthritis is "a condition that causes redness and swelling (inflammation) in various joints in the body, especially the knees, feet, toes, hips and ankles". While both genders can get the condition, the health service indicates it's actually more common in men and in people who are aged between 20 and 40.

Speaking on her Disney+ documentary titled The Real Wagatha Christie, Coleen previously said: "I have reactive arthritis. I’ve had it previously, but this situation [the legal case] brought it on a lot more. It stripped me of my character, and I didn’t want to socialise with people. I was completely in my own world. It was not a nice place to be."

It's claimed Rebekah will be watching the ITV show closely anticipating Coleen will discuss their legal fight. It's also reported her legal team will also watch on and will be ready to act on any comments that could potentially defame Rebekah.

Brand and culture expert Nick Ede told MailOnline Rebekah would be willing to launch a new lawsuit if any of Coleen's comments could potentially defame her. Ede said: "100% Rebekah will not be happy that Coleen is going on the show. She will be keeping her eyes and ears glued to the screen in case she can garner any nuggets from Coleen that could potentially defame her.

"Rebekah famously went in the jungle herself and for Coleen to be following in her footsteps will add insult to injury."
