Another four years of Trump in the Oval Office is the last thing we all need
I am 62 years old today and in all my years I have never seen as nasty an American Presidential election as this one.
Donald Trump with his massive ego and macho behaviour has gone into the sewer and thrown every last bit of dirt he and his cronies can get their hands on at his rival Kamala Harris. They have called her everything under the sun from dumb to a whore in his bid to get back to the White House and as voting begins today I have a gut feeling it could backfire on him spectacularly.
Big mouth Don likes to see himself as a ladies man and a womaniser. " Women love me," he proclaimed at one of his rallies over the weekend, " I will protect them whether they like it or not." But the women of America are a very powerful lobby and they don't need the protection of a cheating misogynist like Trump.

If Harris wins it won't be because of the economy but because Trump insulted women. In deliberately laying out his hard man image to appeal to working class men the former President has alienated millions of female voters and do not be surprised if they get their revenge today.
So far as the polling booths open this morning half the American electorate have cast their votes by either post or in person which they are allowed to do. Initial analysis of that voting data shows that women are out voting men by between 9 to 14 per cent in many states.
This could spell very bad news for Trump since women tend to vote Democrat more than Republican and especially since the whole national row over abortion rights erupted a few years ago. Many modern women believe that Trump wants to curtail their rights and turn the clock back to when the only place for women was in the home.
They see him as a threat not only to themselves but also as a threat to democracy. They also despise the way he has treated Kamala Harris as she was a piece of shit on the end of his shoe.
They will not forget his callous attempt to undermine the colour of her skin and her heritage but questioning if she was really black. Most American know that Trump has the potential to be a vindictive, evil monster. But many hate the Democrats so much that they see him as the lesser of two evils.
They are annoyed at soaring prices, the complete failure of the Democrats and Joe Biden to deal with immigration at the southern border, and they believe the Democratic Party has deserted its traditional working class roots in favour of a stupid woke agenda.
To be fair they certainly have a point and the Democrats also did not help themselves but trying to pretend that President Biden's age was not a problem, when the whole world could clearly see that it was. The Biden White House deliberately tried to con the American people and some voters will never forgive them for that misdemeanour.
However in the last few days it looks as if the women of America have come to rescue the country from the gates of a Trump hell. There is no doubt that in the past 72 hours the tide has turned for Harris and she has a very narrow lead in some of the crucial seven swing states.
There was also surprisingly good news from Iowa, a traditional Republican state where she reportedly had a three point lead over Trump. That poll because it was carried out by a seriously reputable polling company sent the alarm bells ringing among Trump and his campaign team.
He immediately went into defence mode claiming that it was fake news, that the election is rigged and he can only lose the election because of cheating by the Democrats. Trump is making it clear that if he loses again he will not accept the result just like four years ago.
All the experts say the election is on a knife edge and far too close to call. They expect it to come down to a couple of thousand votes in the swing states. America has never had a woman President so it will be fascinating to see how voting pans out and if she wins.
I am no fan of the Democrats or their liberal agenda but I believe Harris is a decent person while Trump just loves Trump and couldn't give a damn about the world or the American people. Another four years of Trump in the Oval Office is the last thing we all need at this moment in time so I hope all the women in the United States continue to turn out and win it for Kamala.
