Ellis release date
The anticipation builds as Ellis is set to premiere this week on Halloween night, Thursday, October 31, at 9pm on Channel 5.
The programme will also be accessible via the streaming service Acorn TV from Monday, November 4.
Ellis cast
Taking on the lead role of DCI Ellis, portrayed as both a "compassionate and determined" police officer, is actress Sharon D Clarke.
She's known for her role as Lola Griffin in Holby City from 2003 to 2019, and more recently in the BBC drama Mr Loverman.
Clarke's other credits include Doctor Who, Showtrial, Red, White And Royal Blue, and Rocketman.
Joining Clarke is actor Andrew Gower, who will play her right-hand man, DS Harper.
He's recognised for his roles as Prince Charles Edward Stuart in Outlander and Nick Cutler in Being Human.
The cast also includes Charley Webb as Abbie Summerfield, Josh Bolt as DI Archie Dent and Wayne Foskett as Michael Edwards.
How many episodes are in Ellis?
Ellis season one is set to feature a mere trio of episodes, each boasting a substantial 90-minute runtime.
The series will drop episodes weekly on Channel 5, all scheduled for the same time slot, with the grand finale set to hit screens on Thursday, November 14.
Yet, the burning question remains: what "impossible" cases will the sleuths tackle and what's their strategy for cracking them?
