Tributes are being paid to a pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle in Mayo, with the community saying the “place won't be the same without him”.

Nikolaj Litvinov sadly lost his life on Tuesday, October 1 at the age of 45, following a late-night collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the N60 at Carrowntober Oughter, Manulla, near Balla.

Beloved Nikolaj will be dearly missed by his adoring family and many friends both here in Ireland and back in his native Lithuania, including his sister Anzelika living in Castlebar, and his brother and father in Lithuania, as well as his many extended family and co-workers.

Nikolaj will repose in Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Monday, October 14 from 5pm until 7pm with removal from Coady’s Funeral Home on Tuesday morning at 10:30am for a private Cremation Ceremony in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

A burial will take place in Lithuania at a later date, where Nikolaj’s ashes will be laid to rest alongside his late mother.

Tributes have poured in from far and wide following Nikolaj’s passing, with mourners sending messages of love to his family, saying that the “place won't be the same without him”.

One mourner penned: “Deepest sympathies to you Anzelika, Michail and dad Valdamir and extended family on Nikolaj’s sudden passing. May his Gentle soul rest in peace.”

Another wrote: “So sorry to hear of Nikolajs untimely passing, our heartfelt condolences to all his family”.

A third said: “Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Anzelika and all of Nik's family on the tragic passing of Nik. He will be missed greatly. May he rest in peace”.

One more added: “Deepest sympathy to Nik's family on his untimely passing. The place won't be the same without him. May be rest in peace.”
