Manchester United are set to consider offers for defender Harry Maguire in January - and the England international could go for as little as £10million.

Maguire has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot in Erik ten Hag's team in the last two seasons and has been strongly linked with an exit - and now he could be set to finally depart in the next transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

The price drop from the £30m he would have cost around a year ago suggests how far his stock has fallen at Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old did manage to claw his way back into Ten Hag's plans last season, despite being stripped of the captaincy, with the former Leicester man going on to start 18 times in the Premier League to help the team through an injury crisis.

This season he has had mixed fortunes, starting three times in the Premier League and twice in cup competitions. But United have signed Matthjis de Ligt for £42m this summer and he appears to be the first choice centre-back alongside Lisandro Martinez.

Maguire - who saw a move to West Ham collapse last year - has also struggled with injuries, picking up groin and muscular issues last season and eventually going on to miss out on England's Euro 2024 squad as a result.

Fitness woes caught up with him this season too, being forced out of United's 0-0 draw against Aston Villa last time out due to a foot problem.

By the time he manages to recover from his latest injury, he could have been pushed even further down Ten Hag's pecking order and his future could soon look ominous at Old Trafford.

United paid £80m for Maguire when he joined from Leicester in 2019 and he has gone on to captain the side and make 215 appearances in total - though he has often come in for criticism over his defensive displays.

Maguire recently scored a late equaliser for United in a 3-3 draw against FC Porto and will be disappointed to have his season disrupted when he was building some momentum - having started the last Premier League game at Aston Villa.

Speaking about his latest injury set-back, he wrote on social media: "Frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend, will be a few weeks on the sideline for me but I’ll come back stronger."
