Lisa Marie Presley kept dead son's body in her house for two months to deal with grief

Lisa Marie Presley kept her dead son's body in her house for two months, it has been reported.
The daughter of Elvis Presley kept her son Benjamin's body in her home after he took his own life, according to a memoir by her daughter Riley Keough. Lisa was said to be heartbroken by her son's death so she kept her son in a separate room.
Lisa passed away at the age of 54 last year due to a bowel obstruction. Her daughter has now finished her memoir. It has been reported that Benjamin's body was kept at 55 degrees.

In the memoir, seen by Page Six, Riley wrote: "There is no law in the state of California that you have to bury someone immediately. I found a very empathetic funeral home owner … She said, "We'll bring Ben Ben to you."' Benjamin Keough died by suicide at the age of 27 in August 2020.
Lisa then started to write about her grief before she died three years later. Lisa reportedly says in the book that she realised it was "strange" to keep her son's body in her house. "I think it would scare the living f**king p*** out of anybody else to have their son there like that. But not me," she said.
Lisa admitted that she found it difficult to decide where to bury him Benjamin. She wasn't sure between Hawaii or at the Graceland estate in Memphis where her father, Elvis Presley, died and is buried. He and Lisa are now buried at Graceland.
Daughter Riley co-authored her mother's memoir after she passed away. She said: "I aim not only to honour my mother, but to tell a human story in what I know is an extraordinary circumstance. I am aware that the recordings my mother left are a gift. So often, all that’s left of a loved one is a saved and re-saved voicemail, a short video on a phone, some favourite photos. I take the privilege of these tapes very seriously."
Lisa Marie died of a small-bowel obstruction that developed after she underwent bariatric surgery years prior. Before she died, she asked her daughter, whose father is Danny Keough, to help her with the writing of the memoir back in 2022.
Riley will be heading off on the road in the autumn to go on a book tour in tribute to her mum's posthumous memoir. The actress will also be narrating part of the audio version of the book along with fellow star Julia Roberts.
